Online and printed illustrated magazine in the field of Eastern Orthodox theology, Church history, living Orthodoxy in the modern world and related studies, with the main focus on Ukrainian clergy and theologians. In Ukrainian.

The mission of the journal:

  • to help the clergy and faithful of the OCU get acquainted with the best works of the world’s leading theologians on the topic of current problems of living Orthodoxy in the modern world;
  • actualization of the discussion and formation of ways to solve the problematic issues of the Church’s existence in the modern digital society and in the context of globalization adapted to the Ukrainian conditions;
  • highlighting and discussing the results of fundamental and applied research in the fields of theology, philosophy, historiosophy, sociology, and religious studies;
  • forming public opinion on solving urgent problems of church-state relations;
  • promoting Christian unity and dialogue, including between representatives of different Orthodox jurisdictions in Ukraine;
  • stimulating the revival of the Kyivan / authentically Ukrainian tradition in the OCU;
  • promoting the development of Ukrainian Christian culture.

Target audience:

  • Orthodox Christian believers who seek to know their faith;
  • Orthodox Ukrainian clergymen;
  • People of humanitarian professions;
  • Teachers of higher education institutions;
  • Anyone interested in Orthodox theology and religion.

Project’s tasks:

  • Publication of scientific articles, innovative developments, historical documents, and reviews of current scientific publications and events.
  • Supporting the creative activity of young researchers.
  • Formation of an interested community of authors by involving teachers and scholars from Ukraine and other countries, especially well-known theologians, in the publication of articles in the journal.
  • Raising awareness of the scientific community of Ukraine and the international community about the situation in Ukraine in the field of freedom of conscience, the organization of the educational process in religious educational institutions, and current theological and scientific projects in Ukraine and the world in general.
  • Integration of Ukrainian science into the world scientific community.
  • Increasing the competitiveness of Ukrainian theology in the global scientific and theological community.
  • Contribution to the development of a positive scientific and partnership image of Ukrainian science in the global scientific and information space.

  • Kyiv Orthodox Theological Academy (OCU).

Frequency of issue: in the first year – quarterly, in the second – bimonthly (later on monthly, probably).

Section topics:

  • Open Orthodoxy (Church in the public square, reflections on current issues from a Christian perspective).
  • To the sources of faith (biblical and liturgical studies, patrology, etc.).
  • Interviews with the leading theologians and other interesting persons.
  • The theme of the issue may combine several sections, announced on the cover.
  • Our Church (revival of Ukrainian / “Kyivan” traditions in Orthodoxy).
  • Ecumenical and local (exploring Orthodox Christianity in the world, especially introducing the Greek canonical thought).
  • Author’s columns, 2-3 in the issue.
